Do You Really Need a Fancy Domain Name for Your Blog?

Hey everyone,

I was browsing few blogs the other day and came across a post about how you absolutely need a professional domain name to be a serious blogger.

It made me wonder if they were just trying to sell something, rather than giving real advice.

Let's talk about my own blog for a second. My current URL is https://erickouassi.blogpost.com, which this blogger might say isn't professional because it has ".blogpost.com" in it.

But here's the thing: Blogger.com is a platform owned by Google, a giant tech company you've probably heard of.

Google offers free services, and Blogger is one of them.

So, using a Blogger domain doesn't mean your blog is unprofessional.

Plus, Blogger actually lets you add a custom domain name later if you want.

Maybe this blogger just forgot about that? Or maybe they were more interested in promoting their affiliate link than giving you the full picture.

Let's be honest, domain names typically cost around $10 to $20 a year, and Blogger gives you a free option.

Security is important, of course. But when you see a URL, the main thing is to consider the context.

A random link from who-knows-where might be risky, but a URL like mine above, clearly linked to Blogger, is generally safe.

The bottom line is, focus on creating great content for your blog. You can always upgrade your domain name later if you decide you need to.

But for now, don't let anyone pressure you into buying something you don't need!

Blogger.com is a legitimate platform, and you can always add a custom domain later.

If you found this helpful, feel free to share it with your friends who might be thinking about starting a blog!
